Please leave your ideas for adaptive reuse of the two remaining structures of the Federal Screw Works site on Congdon Street
The blogspot is maintained by Preservation Chelsea, and we are delighted that Rene Papo left the two Federal Screw Works (FSW) buildings on Congdon street.
This street will be one of the most interesting streets architecturally in Chelsea outside the downtown.
Tom Girard is your neighbor and a member of the Preservation Chelsea Board of Directors. Please leave your ideas here, or community with Tom Girard at 474 3632 or drop a line in his mailbox at 320 South Main.
- Since block two of Congdon Street has the adaptively reused Catholic School as a community arts center across the street on the corner,
- and since small structure across the street still functions as manufacturing building,
- adaptive reuse of the remaining two FSW buildings is a good fit for that block of Congdon Street.

- We'd like your ideas for how the buildings might be adaptively reused?
- What are your concerns?
